Phase by Phase Recovery

The body undergoes a significant physiological transformation after a 9-month pregnancy. After birth, you will want your body to recover to its pre-pregnancy state. During this recovery period, a special diet, mild herbal broths, teas, and rest are required to fully nurture, replenish, and restore the body.

Q5:I live overseas and don’t have access to rice wine to cook the herbal soups? What other alternatives do I have and will it affect my postpartum recovery?

A5:Using rice wine during the postpartum month is to help keep you warm. If you don’t have access to rice wine, other alternatives will include "sake", "red wine" or "white wine.”  Cooking time will need to be adjusted according to alcohol percentage, Another option so it is recommended that you use half-wine water (according to the volume of water each time, the ratio of half-water+half-wine for simmering), and make sure that the alcohol is evaporated during the simmering process.
